Important CryptoUnity upgrade and MiCA transition

We are updating CryptoUnity.

CryptoUnity is moving to a new MiCA-compliant setup, where regulated custody and trading will be provided by BitGo Europe GmbH.

Alongside MiCA compliance, the app is also being redesigned with a simpler and better user experience. Your funds remain safe at all times and are kept according to the high standards of our regulated partner, while we at CryptoUnity will continue to focus on what we do best: making the app simple to use and explaining crypto and investing in a clear and understandable way.

Short summary

  • With the update, CryptoUnity is moving to a new MiCA-compliant setup, where regulated custody and trading will be provided by BitGo Europe GmbH.
  • Until 29 June 2026 at 18:59, you can still buy and sell cryptocurrencies in the app, but we recommend that you sell or convert all cryptocurrencies to EUR in time for the update.
  • You can withdraw EUR to your bank account or leave it in your account and buy cryptocurrencies again after the update.
  • From 30 June 2026, buying and selling cryptocurrencies in the old app will no longer be possible; your EUR balance will remain in your account, and EUR withdrawals will still be possible through the usual process.
  • You will be notified about the launch of the update by email and push notification.

What you need to do by 29 June 2026

Until 29 June 2026 at 18:59, buying and selling cryptocurrencies in the app will still be possible. However, we recommend that by this deadline you sell or convert all your cryptocurrencies to EUR. If you buy cryptocurrencies before this deadline, you must sell them back to EUR by 29 June 2026 at 18:59.

You then have two options:

  • Withdraw the EUR to your bank account, or
  • Keep the EUR on CryptoUnity and use it to buy cryptocurrencies again after the upgrade.

It may take a little while before the update is ready, so please complete the sale in time.

What happens after 30 June 2026

  • Buying and selling cryptocurrencies in the non-updated app will no longer be possible.
  • Your EUR balance will remain in your account.
  • EUR withdrawal will still be possible through the usual process until further notice.
  • You will be notified about the launch of the update by email and/or push notification.

After the update

When the updated app is ready, you will complete a short verification again and will be able to buy cryptocurrencies once more. As a thank you for staying with us through this transition, for the first 2 weeks after re-registration you will buy and sell cryptocurrencies with no fees.

The selection of cryptocurrencies is changing slightly

With the update, the selection of cryptocurrencies in the app will change. If you currently hold cryptocurrencies in the app, we recommend that you sell or convert them to EUR by 29 June 2026 at 18:59, as described above. After the update, the app will show the current list of cryptocurrencies available for buying and selling.

If you do nothing by 29 June

In line with our Terms, we will convert your remaining cryptocurrencies to EUR, which will remain available in your account. The purpose of this is to ensure that after the old trading setup is switched off, your funds do not remain in a crypto position that could no longer be traded in the app.

Withdrawing EUR to your bank account

Withdrawal is possible to the bank account from which you previously transferred funds to us. If you have only paid by card so far, before your first withdrawal you may need to make a small confirmation transfer from your bank account. Our support team will be happy to help you with this.

  • Use only the CryptoUnity app, the official email info@cryptounity.org and the official website.
  • Do not trust Telegram, WhatsApp or private DM messages from people claiming to be CryptoUnity support.
  • Never give anyone access to your CryptoUnity account, and never send passwords, seed phrases or private keys.

FAQ

Do I have to sell my cryptocurrencies by 29 June?
We recommend that you sell or convert them to EUR by 29 June 2026 at 18:59. The purpose is to make the transition to the new setup clean and to ensure that after the old trading setup is switched off, your funds do not remain in a crypto position that could no longer be traded in the app.

Can I still buy cryptocurrencies until 29 June?
Yes, until 29 June 2026 at 18:59, buying and selling are still possible. If you buy cryptocurrencies, you must sell them back to EUR by the same deadline.

What happens after 30 June 2026?
Buying and selling cryptocurrencies in the old app will no longer be possible. Your EUR balance will remain in your account, and EUR withdrawal will still be possible through the process.

What if I want to withdraw my money immediately?
First sell your cryptocurrencies to EUR, then submit a withdrawal request to your bank account. If you previously paid only by card, a small confirmation transfer from your bank account may be required. Withdrawals will be processed in line with the existing timeframes.

When will I be able to buy cryptocurrencies again?
When the updated app is ready, we will notify you by email and push notification in the app. You will need to update the app. After a short re-verification, you will be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies again, with no fees for 2 weeks.

Will there be fees after the update?
For the first 2 weeks after re-registration, you will buy and sell cryptocurrencies with no fees. After that, fees will be the same as before the update and will always be visible in the summary before the transaction.
